Per festeggiare i 50 anni di attivià della galleria di Massimo Minini e anche celebrare Brescia e Bergamo Capitali della Cultura 2023 oggi si inaugura la meravigliosa mostra duo di Anish Kapoor e Giulio Paolini. Entrambi artisti portati in scena da Massimo Minini più volte singolarmente.
La contrapposizione dei due colori total black assorbente del nero assoluto brevettato da Kapoor ed il bianco delle sculture classiche di Paolini. La presenza assoluta e di un artista – con forme geometriche, la matematica, la ragione – ed il vuoto dell’altro insieme in uno spazio sospeso anche nel tempo tra passato e futuro. I due artisti si incontrano, completano e collaborano unendo le loro opere in un solo spazio rappresentato da Massimo Minini, il loro oggi.
Il vuoto è metafora della creazione e gioca un ruolo essenziale nelle forme scultoree di Anish Kapoor dal carattere sensuale, quasi uterino, che incarna luoghi protettivi, macchie di esistenza.
L’opera bianca, tutta vuota, e l’opera nera che invece accoglie tutti i colori fino a mimetizzarsi nel nero più assoluto, sono come una supernova e un buco nero. La prima rimanda allo spettatore la sua densità di luce e di pensiero, la seconda trattiene in sé l’energia che l’autore carica nell’opera. In entrambi i casi i lavori sono fonti e accumulatori di pensiero che dall’autore allo spettatore, e viceversa, dall’oggi al domani, dall’ordine al disordine, veicolano concetti e significati. Il pensiero regge il nostro mondo e il creato.
Il problema è capire se siamo noi che abbiamo creato il mondo o viceversa, quindi anche se siamo noi ad aver creato l’arte o viceversa.
Le opere bianche, non invasive e mentali di Giulio Paolini incontrano le opere nere di Anish Kapoor, lavori che occupano il nostro campo visivo ed esigono la nostra attenzione. Due attitudini opposte trovano qui la loro ricomposizione.
Così, in questo apparente contrasto si ricompone questa metafora che alla fine chiamiamo arte.
Il Vantablack di Kapoor rende quasi impossibile per l’occhio umano rilevare la forma o la trama dell’oggetto a cui è applicato, creando l’effetto di ricreare in un buco nero. Nel 2016, Kapoor ha stretto un accordo con Surrey NanoSystems per ottenere i diritti esclusivi su Vantablack come materiale artistico.
Le principali caratteristiche dell’espressione artistica di Paolini sono la citazione e la frammentazione, che vengono utilizzate come espedienti per mettere in scena la distanza tra un modello finito per fare dell’opera un “teatro di evocazione”.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Massimo Minini’s gallery and also to celebrate Brescia and Bergamo Capitals of Culture 2023, the wonderful duo exhibition by Anish Kapoor and Giulio Paolini opens today. Both artists staged by Massimo Minini several times individually.
The contrast of the two absorbent total black colors of absolute black patented by Kapoor and the white of Paolini’s classic sculptures. The absolute presence of an artist – with geometric shapes, mathematics, reason – and the emptiness of the other together in a space suspended even in time between the past and the future. The two artists meet, complete and collaborate by uniting their works in a single space represented by Massimo Minini, their today.
The vacuum is a metaphor of creation and plays an essential role in Anish Kapoor’s sculptural forms with a sensual, almost uterine character, that embodies protective places, spots of existence
The white Artwork, completely empty, and the black artwork which instead welcomes all the colors to the point of blending into the most absolute black, are like a supernova and a black hole. The first sends its density of light and thought back to the viewer, the second holds within itself the energy that the author loads into the work. In both cases, the works are sources and accumulators of thought which, from the author to the spectator and vice versa, from today to tomorrow, from order to disorder, convey concepts and meanings. Thought rules our world and creation.
The problem is understanding whether we have created the world or vice versa, therefore also whether we have created art or vice versa.
The white, non-invasive and mental works of Giulio Paolini meet the black works of Anish Kapoor, works that occupy our field of vision and demand our attention. Two opposing attitudes find their recomposition here.
Thus, in this apparent contrast this metaphor is recomposed which in the end we call art.
Vantablack makes it nearly impossible for the human eye to detect the shape or texture of the object it’s applied to, creating the effect of starring into a black hole. In 2016, Kapoor struck a deal with Surrey NanoSystems to gain exclusive rights to Vantablack as an artistic material.
The main characteristics of Paolini artistic expression include citation and fragmentation, which are used as expedients for staging the distance between a finished model for making the work a “theatre of evocation”.
